Elevator Insider: Awkward

Elevator (or “Lift” in British lingo) is defined as “a cage or platform and its hoisting machinery for conveying people or things to different levels,” according to Merriam-Webster.
But I define it as a cage or platform (since it's 20th century, evolved with CCTV camera and mirrored walls) where people experience awkward situation coupled with deafening silence.

If you haven't been in an elevator yet then you've been missing these scenarios:

  1. 1. When you and your friends were so loud telling stories, talking about something, then you guys just shut up when you entered the lift. And all you can do is just look at each other and let your eyes speak for you.

  2. 2. You just don't know where to look. (I suggest don't look at the person next to you, especially if that's a girl wearing plunging necklines.)

  3. 3. You find it weird when people just try to press the button gazillion times, believing that it will make the 'vator go up or down, or close/open the door quicker.

  4. 4. You just don't know where to go when somebody just farted inside or a person came in with a foul smell.

  5. 5. It makes you irate when a person came in and just pressed one level up/down.

  6. 6. While inside the lift, you were so late for work, and you're at the 6th floor. Suddenly, the lift stopped at the 3rd floor. You feel mad because you're already rushing to time-in. Then a gorgeous maiden came in, and it seems like everything turned into slow-motion. Then you now wish that the elevator gets busted. LOL.

  7. 7. However, the best would be, if you're stuck in the elevator with... nobody!

So, who wants to ride the lift? Free ride everywhere. Just go inside any building in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Eastwood City, Pasig or in Makati Business District. Of course with the permission of the Security Guards or leave your ID first at the concierge. That's if they will allow you though. :]

Do you have any awkward moment at the elevator? Care to share?
